Change…the only constant

Last week, while preparing for book launches and album releases, I ended up collapsing on the floor at home. Ambulance called, and a lengthy wait in hospital to have an infected gallbladder removed. Sadly, I had to cancel my first launch of Gaps in the Light in Ōtepoti Dunedin ~ but rest assured my local whānau this will be rescheduled soon.

I received my first review of Gaps in the Light from Judy Darley SkyLightRain, and was again reduced to tears. A regular occurrence since Reuben died, but they were happy tears. I’m very grateful that my first review, was by someone who understood that my writing cannot be constrained to genre or form ~ a blessed breath out. http://www.skylightrain.com/book-review-gaps-in-the-light-by-iona-winter/?fbclid=IwAR2_H3ToUpxT30g5EqTmHUw9LQoo43YHQYFr91nmuLRiljnUjfyNrXjo8xs

I’ve since been cleared to fly from Dunedin to Auckland (and further afield) from Friday this week, and am stoked to be able to attend (in a somewhat limited capacity now with stab wounds to my belly) Reuben’s Milk III release parties in Dunedin / Auckland / Wellington. AND to be able to read at book launch events for Gaps in the Light in Auckland / Wellington / Christchurch. All details can be found via my social media FB / Twitter / Instagram.

I want to say a massive kia ora rawa to everyone who has sent me aroha and healing energy during this time. I hope to see some of you at events around Aotearoa over the next month.

Me te aroha, Iona x
