Post launches…and residencies

Last week I spent time in residence on Quarantine Island / Kamau Taurua ~ and this enabled me to complete the first pieces of writing since Reuben died 💛

My gratitude and aroha to the Trust for the opportunity, and their patience, while I navigated the last 12 months of COVID, grief, surgery, and physical limitations. If you’ve not been over I’d highly recommend a visit – it’s a peaceful spot, centred in the harbour, and on a full moon eclipse it was magnificent!

After a massive month in April, touring Reuben’s Milk III album https://flyingnun.bandcamp.com/album/iii and my new book Gaps in the Light https://adhocfiction.com/2021/02/gaps-in-the-light-iona-winter/ I was soon faced with the pressing need to move flats, take some time out to recuperate (given I’d had rather major surgery before we went on tour) and take up this wonderful wee residency on the island.

If you’d like a copy of Gaps in the Light (and live in Aotearoa New Zealand) I have some copies, otherwise you can purchase it via Ad Hoc Fiction or Amazon for the ebook version. I’d appreciate it very much, if you’ve read the book and feel keen to comment, if you could post a review on Good Reads https://www.goodreads.com/ 💛

Once again, my aroha and thanks to everyone who has supported me in unconditional ways, for the aroha shared at events, and generosity of spirit. It feels positive to be writing more fully again, and regardless of whether it lasts or not, there are new projects percolating.

Iona x
