Contents Under Pressure is a novella in poetry that tells a story of a mother-turned-graffiti artist in Christchurch. It blends poetry, narrative and collage, and is complemented by illustrations by Gail’s daughter, Rata Ingram. The book explores the effects of the Christchurch earthquakes on whānau and how art (in the larger sense of the word) can play a part in mitigating these effects.

Gail’s work has been widely published and anthologised in Aotearoa and internationally. She is an editor and teacher of creative writing, and is currently working on a new collection.
