Kathryn van Beek is an Ōtepoti Dunedin based writer.
Her children’s book ‘Bruce Finds a Home’ is about ‘New Zealand’s most famous cat’ who she found on the side of the road when he was just one day old Bruce the cat ✨

Kathryn is currently working on the next ‘Bruce the Cat’ children’s book, and a debut collection of short stories (for grown-ups) called ‘Pet’. Each story peels a different layer of meaning from the word ‘pet’, and the collection addresses themes of captivity, animal attraction and pack mentality.
